Artificial Intelligence in Digital Marketing


Artificial intelligence will soon be the driving force behind many services and currently, we see it implemented in so many areas.

What is Artificial Intelligence?

Elon Musk -“Artificial Intelligence is a fundamental risk to the existence of human civilization”.

Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) was first coined decades ago in the year 1956 by John McCarthy where he defined artificial intelligence is the science and engineering of making intelligent machines. It is a technique of getting machines to work and behave like humans.

In recent pass Artificial Intelligence has been able to accomplish this by creating machines and robots that are being used in healthcare, robotics, marketing and many more.

However many A.I. application are not perceived as A.I. because we often tends to think as robots doing our daily course but it has become so general that we don’t realize in our daily life.

Example: Have you ever realized how google gives us such accurate search results it’s just due to Artificial Intelligence.

Some people thinks that artificial intelligence , machine learning and deep learning are same since they have same application but it is not so.

Artificial Intelligence is the science of getting machine mimic the behavior of humans.

Machine learning is a subset of A.I. that focus on getting machine make decisions by feeding them data.

Deep learning a subset of machine learning that uses the concepts of neural network to solve complex problems.

So we all now understand that Artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning are interconnected field. Machine learning and deep learning aids artificial intelligence by providing a set of algorithms and neutral network to solve data driven problems.

There are 3 types of Artificial Intelligence:

  • Artificial Narrow Intelligence
  • Artificial General Intelligence
  • Artificial Super Intelligence

Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI): Artificial Narrow Intelligence also known as weak A.I. involves in applying only to a specific task.

Example: Alexa which works up to a specific range.

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI): Artificial General Intelligence also known as the strong A.I that has the ability to perform an intellectual task that a human being can.

Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI): Artificial Super Intelligence is presently seen as a hypothetical situation as detected in movies and science fictions books. It is a term referring to the time where the capability of computers will surpass humans.

As per Elon Musk A.I. will take over the world by the year 2040.

Now let’s understand how Artificial Intelligence is used in Digital Marketing.

Digital marketing has already created a bustling effect in the marketing world. Now it is already a million dollar industry and it is predicted that it will be going to increase at a lightning speed in the upcoming years. Artificial intelligence has an immense contribution in the field. Recently most of the big business giants are trying their hands in artificial intelligence.

In the field of digital marketing Facebook already using A.I. for face verification where in Machine learning and Deep learning is used to detect facial features and tag your friends.

In twitter A.I. is used to identify hate speech terroristic language in tweets. Machine language and deep learning process to filter out offensive content.

Google preventive search is the most active A.I. application. When google makes recommendation to choose from i.e. A.I. in action.

Predictive searches are based on data that google collects about you such as your location age and other personal data with the help of which google tries to predict what we are looking for is also possible for A.I.

Thus to conclude we believe that in the upcoming years A.I. is soon going to conquer the world as predicted by many geniuses like Elon Musk. Artificial Intelligence is an integral part of not only marketing sectors but equally in all other sectors.
